Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. Media

If you upload images or documents to the site, we advise you to avoid uploading images containing EXIF GPS data. People visiting your site can download and extract location data from these images. By posting these documents on our site, you grant us all rights of use on our site or our communications with third parties. We do not resell this information or data.

If you accept the images submitted by the user and use the API or Easy IO, these images may be transmitted to third-party servers located in foreign countries. If the “Save Originals” option is enabled, the images are stored for 30 days. Otherwise, no image is stored on the API for more than 30 minutes.

Images sent by users may be transmitted to compression servers in the United States and stored there for up to 30 days.

Images sent by users that are displayed on this site will be transmitted to and stored on a global network of third-party servers (a CDN).

Cookies and cache memory

If you post a comment on our site, you will be asked if you want to save your name, e-mail address and site in cookies. This is purely for your convenience so that you do not have to enter this information if you post another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set up a number of cookies to save your login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a login cookie is two days, and a screen option cookie lasts for one year. If you check “Remember me”, your login cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

When you modify or publish a publication, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data. It simply indicates the ID of the publication you have just modified. It expires after one day.

This site uses caching to facilitate a faster response time and a better user experience. Caching potentially stores a copy of each web page displayed on this site. All cache files are temporary and are never accessible to a third party, unless this is necessary to obtain technical support from the cache extension provider. Cache files expire according to a schedule set by the site administrator, but can easily be purged by the administrator before their natural expiration if necessary. Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details.

Embedded content from other sites

Use and transmission of your personal data

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long your data is stored

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

The rights you have over your data

If you have an account or if you have left comments on the site, you can request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including the data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not take into account data stored for administrative or legal purposes or for security reasons.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments can be checked using an automated spam detection service.

If you accept user-submitted images and use the API or Easy IO, these images may be transmitted to third-party servers located in foreign countries. If the “Save Originals” option is enabled, the images are stored for 30 days. Otherwise, no image is stored on the API for more than 30 minutes.
